Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day

I am really excited for Sew, Mama, Sews Giveaway Day! Why? I had an extra baby blanket that I wanted to give to one of my lucky readers! It's a round ripple. And I used a variegated blue and green yarn. Honestly, I think it would be good for either a boy or a girl.

This is a close up, of the center of the blanket.

And here it is laid out. Sorry about the picture. I don't know what is wrong with our camera.

All you have to do, is leave me a comment, telling me what your favorite Christmas ornament is and why? That's it! You have until December 19th at 11:59PM PST. I'm just trying to be fair here. And I want to wish you all the best of luck. I'm so excited to start blog hopping! ~Kate the Great

My 14 year old daughter made an angel with her face cut from a photo glued onto a cutout paper angel with glitter all over when she was in preschool. I love it! And I love that blanket. One of my best friends is having her first grandchild in about two months. This would be lovely for him.

It's hard to pick a favorite, but here goes: when I was about 8 my sister broke my 1st Christmas ornament. Just shattered it. That Christmas she made me one to replace it (REALLY WONKY) out of felt and handstitched (she was 10 at the time). At first I was really angry, but that sweet gesture has really grown on my over the years. I can't find it in my stuff this year . . . I hope my mom still has it!

They are all birds we can see in our yard, cardinal, woodpecker, blue jay, etc. Some of them are very delicate and nearly falling to bits but I love the and try to mend them each year!

We have a new grandson born Nov. 8, this would be a perfect blanket for him. My favorite Christmas ornament is...I have so many handmade ones I can't choose. Every year my neighbor would invite 12 ladies to make 12 homemade ornaments. (Kinda like a cookie exchange party.) When the party was over we each had 12 different ornament, we did this for about 10 years. You wouldn't believe the beautiful work the ladies did. When I put the tree up each year, I remember who made what and the good times we had. Its a nice Christmas memory.

My favorite ornament... Hrm... I think it's a little ceramic ornament that I made when I was about seven. My class did them in the second grade. Everyone was allowed one paint color, but my teacher let me and one other student paint ours with whatever different colors we wanted. It was a special treat - something I didn't get many of in school - so I tend to look on it fondly.
